Neva Lynn Kelly

            Graveside service for Neva Lynn (Hickerson) Kelly, age 75, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Les Banks officiating.

            Neva passed away Friday, November 6, 2020, at the Frederick Memorial Nursing Care Center.

            Burial will be in under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.

            She was born January 27, 1945, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Robert Lynn “Bob” and Aldeen Lucille (Conditt) Hickerson. She graduated from Frederick High School and attended Altus College prior to enrolling at the Vernon Regional College of Cosmetology, where she graduated from Beauty School. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Wayne Kelly on August 5, 1961, in Davidson, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2015. Neva owned and operated Neva’s Beauty Shop for numerous years and was outstanding in her field and she treasured the relationships she made through the years with her patrons. She acquired a love for sewing and quilting from her mother and grandmother. Everyone in the family, both immediate and extended, had received the fruits of her labor. She had a passion for yard work and gardening. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

            In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers:  Jim Hickerson and Ronnie Hickerson; and a daughter-in-law: Patricia Kelly.

            She is survived by one daughter: Vonnie Lynn (Kelly) Bergman; one son: Robert Wayne Kelly, of Canada; two sisters: Laquetta Travis, of Davidson, and Debra Williams and husband Jim, of Lindsay; three grandsons: Kenneth “Blake” Bergman and wife Rikki, of Stillwater, Jason Griffin and wife Samantha, and Nikolas Kelly and wife Tiffany, all of Canada; and five great grandchildren: Dru and Tommy Bergman, Alexander and Jazzy Griffin and Nevaeh Clark.

            Vonnie and family wish to express their sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Memorial Nursing Center for the love and compassion that was extended to Neva. They treated her like family and she loved in return. Also, thanks to Elara Hospice for their special care for Neva.
