January 27, 1967 — December 26, 2020

Funeral service for Danny Flores, Jr., age 53, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020, at the Restoration Church (1920 N. 15th Street), with Pastor James Johnson, Marcus Booker and Johnny Flores officiating. *Due to COVID, masks will be mandatory.

Danny passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020, at a Lawton, Oklahoma, hospital.

Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.

He was born January 27, 1967, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Danny and Mary (Garza) Flores. He grew up and attended Frederick schools and graduated from Frederick High School with the Class of 1986. Danny loved and participated in sports throughout his school years. That love continued as he spent countless dedicated hours volunteering for the Frederick Quarterback Club. He not only loved the young men and women he impacted, but he loved the fellowship and enriched relationships he had with those he served within the organization.  Needless to say, Wednesday nights painting the Bomber Bowl field won’t be the same without Danny. Whether it was painting the field, a hotdog/hamburger feed, fundraising, or any type of endeavor for the Quarterback Club, he was front and center and always willing to help in any way possible, and with a cheerful heart. In 2000, Danny began working at what is now Henniges Automotive Manufacturer, where he was employed as a Team Molder at the time of his death. When he started his job he also started a friendship with Sherri Barnard, who began work there at the same time, and their friendship became a long lasting love affair. Danny was not only a fanatic supporter of Frederick Bomber Football and other athletics but was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers NFL football team. He was a member of the Restoration Church of Frederick.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Adela and Raymond Garza, and Josephine and Frank Flores, Sr.; and a sister: Kristine Flores.

Survivors include Sherri Barnard, of the home in Frederick; children: Brittany (Flores) Jackson, Cody Duncan, Deseree Luna, Destiny Barnard, and Madison Barnard; parents: Danny and Mary Flores; sister: Angie (Flores Cotten); brother: Johnny Flores and wife Lori; grandchildren: Steven, Anthony, Whittany, Noah, Jerry, and Sebastian Jackson, Nah-Miah Finley, and Isaiah Goodday; numerous nieces nephews, a host of extended family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Frederick Quarterback Club, P.O. Box 111, Frederick, OK 73542, in loving memory of Danny Flores, Jr.
