            Funeral service for Virginia Ruth Flores, age 77, of Tipton, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2021, at the First Baptist Church of Tipton, with Rev. Les Banks, pastor, officiating.

            Mrs. Flores passed away at her home on Thursday, May 13, 2021. Burial will be in the Tipton Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish & Tipton Funeral Homes.

            Viewing will be at the Tipton Funeral Home, in Tipton.

            She was born February 5, 1944, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Earnest “Chig” and Parthena (Muchmore) Southerland. She grew up and lived most all her life in and around Tipton. She attended Laing School and was an outstanding basketball player. In her working life, she not only performed factory work, but also managed several convenience stores. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed watching any sports her grandkids were playing.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son at birth; a son: Kenny Wolfe; and two brothers: Herman and Calvin Southerland.

            Survivors include a son: Keith Wolfe, Tipton; a daughter: Sheree Flores (Gary Boling), of Tipton; three brothers: Rocky Southerland (Janie), of Fox, Bobby Southerland, Tipton, and Jeff Southerland (Michelle), of Tipton; seven sisters: Barbara Trichell, Tipton, Peggy Stevens (John), Midland, Texas, Rita Smith (Tim), Tipton, Kay Meza, Tipton, Patty Flores (Noel Juanes), Tipton, Ann Simpson, Tipton, and Deborah Southerland, of Tipton; four grandchildren: Kenny Wayne Wolfe, Rebeca Wolfe, Kobe Gipson and Kade Flores; one great grandchild: Madley Wolfe; her two angels: Tracey Ball and Leanna Flores; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

            Memorial contributions may be sent to Operation Care, 712 S. Main Street, Frederick, OK 73542, in loving memory of Virginia Ruth Flores.
