Seth Bevers

            Memorial service for Seth Conan Bevers, age 39, of Altus, Oklahoma, will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Altus, with Rev. Tyler McDowell, pastor of First Baptist Church of Blair, officiating.

            Seth passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, at his home in Altus.

            He was born August 29, 1982, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Donnie and Cathy (Lewis) Bevers. He grew up in Altus and attended Altus schools. He graduated from Altus High School with the Class of 2001.  He attended Western Oklahoma State College and received his associate’s degree. In 2010, he received his bachelor’s degree in History from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, at Durant. He was united in marriage to Katy McCown on June 13, 2009, at the First Baptist Church of Tipton. Seth was the director of the Baptist Collegiate Ministries at Western Oklahoma State College. He was on staff at Blair First Baptist Church as the Worship Leader (Minister of Music). He served in ministry at various places including: Durant, Thackerville, Burns Flat, Olive and Altus.  Seth enjoyed all kinds of music. He was an avid sports fan. He loved making others smile and laugh. He had a true servant’s heart.

            He was preceded in death by his mother: Cathy Bevers; and mother-in-law: Karla McCown.

            Survivors include his wife: Katy, of the home in Altus; a son: Noah Bevers; his father: Donnie Bevers, Altus; three brothers: Justin Bevers and wife Sarah, Jeff Bevers and wife Karen, all of Washington and Markeith Raiden and wife Christina, of Lousiana; father-in-law: Cliff McCown and wife Pam, of Burns Flat; a brother-in-law: Garrett McCown and wife Jinna, of Enid; two nieces: Evvie Bevers and Jaylynn McCown; and four nephews: Keith, Evan and Isaac Bevers, and Kamden McCown.
