Funeral service for Ruby Mae Prescott, age 93, of Dallas, Texas, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Burkhardt Chapel of the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Mike Haverland, minister of the Frederick Church of Christ, officiating.
Mrs. Prescott passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in Mesquite, Texas.
Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish and Tipton Funeral Homes.
She was born September 16, 1931, in Chillicothe, Texas, to Willie and Annie (Bailey) Hill. Her family moved to Tipton in 1943. She graduated from Tipton High School with the Class of 1950. She was united in marriage to Donald Andrew Prescott on January 20, 1953, in Vernon, Texas. In 1955, after the return of her husband from military service in Korea, they moved to Dallas, Texas, where they owned and operated a coin operated car wash, then One Hour Martinizing Cleaners, and then the Speed Queen Washateria. She and Don enjoyed farming and owned a farm in Grayson County, Texas. They owned a vineyard and winery under the label of Preston Trail Winery. She was interested in genealogy, and she wrote family genealogy books and provided these books to her family. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald A. “Don” Prescott, on September 10, 2016; a son: Larry Don Prescott, in 2010; five brothers: Gene Hill, Wilburn Hill, William Hill, Don Hill, and Wesley Hill; and a sister: Velma Emberlin.
She is survived by a daughter: Helen Graber and husband Larry, of Round Rock, Texas; a son: Dean Andrew Prescott, of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
