Funeral service for Ralph Allen Washburn, age 68, of Indiahoma, formerly of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Frederick, with Rev. Scott Patton, pastor of First Baptist Church of Indiahoma, officiating.

Mr. Washburn passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Lawton, Oklahoma. 

He was born August 17, 1955, at the Frederick Hospital, to George Homer and Ethyl Marie (Hurley) Washburn. He attended Frederick schools and graduated with the Class of 1973. He was united in marriage to Donna May Rogers on June 1, 1976. Ralph worked at United Supermarket where he worked as the meat market manager for many years. He attended Great Plains Technology Center and completed his Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-Intermediate) training and coursework in advanced medical procedures. He continued his education at Wichita Campus of Vernon College and received his credentials as a paramedic in 2004. He had a career of service in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), serving as the Director of the Tillman County EMS. Ralph’s commitment to serving Tillman County residents with care and compassion was unparalleled. His wealth of knowledge through his education and especially his experiences made him a leader in his field. He taught numerous classes through the years on CPR and other safety, ambulance, and medical emergency training. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Indiahoma.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Carol Bruster, Phyllis Spradley, and Vicky Jo Vann Liles.

Survivors include his wife Donna May Washburn; two daughters: Beverly Dianne Diaz (Johnny), and Jenifer Renee Gaucin (Esteban); a brother-in-law: Jay Kelly; two grandchildren: Katlin Diaz (Karl Wright), and Michael Diaz; and one great grandchild: Grace Wright.

Memorial contributions may be sent the Ambulance Service EMS District, 300 E. Lucille, Frederick, OK 73542, in loving memory of Ralph Washburn.
