Mario Olvera

Funeral service for Mario Olvera Villegas, age 65, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Orr Gray Gish Chapel with Mike Haverland officiating.

A family and friends reception will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Olvera passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, at his home.

Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery.

He was born May 4, 1960, in San Miguel de Allende Mexico, to Ramon Olvera Urbina and Juana Villegas Rubio. He migrated to the U.S. at the age of 13. After a few years in Dublin, Texas, he moved with his family to Frederick. He was united in marriage to Valentina Puentes on February 5, 1980, in Vernon, Texas. Mario worked as a farm hand for over 20 years. He worked in manufacturing and then a grader for Tillman County until he retired in 2022. He enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include two sons: Louis Olvera and wife Karen, of Seguin, Texas, and Mario Ruben Olvera and wife Alysa, of Germany; a daughter Sylvia Garcia and husband Ricardo Garcia Ruiz, of Lawton, Oklahoma; sisters: Maria Salud Olvera Villegas, of Mexico, Guadalupe Olvera Villegas, of Mexico, Maria Leticia Olvera Villegas, of Tennessee, brothers: Ruben Olvera Villegas, of Texas, and Jose Luis Olvera Villegas, of Mexico; grandchildren: Candice Juana Olvera, Kaylee Olvera, Mia Christine Olvera, Aiden Israel Preciado, Valerie Alani Torres, Liam Morales, Leiliana Grace Olvera, Ray and Holly Wilson, Michael and Ariana Wilson, Josiah Lamont Daniel, Rojelio Juliano Garcia, Ricco Angel Garcia, and Joel Ezekiel Garcia; great grandchildren: Stevie Dawn, Ethan Clay, Jonathan Dean, Malcolm Drew, Rizzoli and Mikalya Drew; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson: Ethan Wilson.
