Walter "Lynn" Griffith

Funeral service for Lynn Griffith, age 85, of Hollister, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 7, 2026, at Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home Chapel, 111 North 11th Street, Frederick, Oklahoma, with Rev. Les Banks and Rev. Josh Boles officiating. Burial will follow in the Hollister Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.

Mr. Griffith passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the Swan Health Nursing Home in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Lynn was born March 9, 1941, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Harvey Ray and Helen Marie (Wilson) Griffith. He attended Hollister Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1959. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served from October 1959 until February 1962. After serving in the military, he went to work as a truck driver for Coca Cola, then Dale Baker Trucking. He then hauled rock for Jennings Trucking Service and also hauled grain for Cassidy Grain Company. He was united in marriage to Judy Nell McGee on May 15, 1965, at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Frederick, Oklahoma. Lynn enjoyed fishing and deer hunting in Colorado, as well as hunting coyotes and rabbits with his greyhound dogs. He was a Methodist.

He is survived by his wife Judy, of the home; one daughter: Kim Griffith Rozendaal (Kevin) of Little Elm, Texas; one son: Dudley Griffith of Iowa Park, Texas; three grandchildren: Lena Fowler, Courtney Young (Markus), and Haley Weller (Andrew); and nine great-grandchildren: Ryan McCoy, Nevaeh Swain, Jordyn Asberry, Aubreigh Asberry, Madilynn Weller, Andrea Weller, Jennifer Weller, Cambree Cothren and Lukas Young.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Bob Griffith; one sister: Pat Lutzen; and one grandson: Dakota Ryan Griffith.
