Karen Sue Dawson

            Memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019, at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Roger Heap officiating.

            Inurnment is under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home, of Frederick.

            She was born July 9, 1963, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Jerry and Carlene Pettijohn. She attended Frederick schools and also attended Phillips University in Enid. She worked for many years as the secretary of the First Christian Church in Frederick. Karen’s absolute joy was her family. She was united in marriage to Terry Dawson on January 24, 1998, at the Central Christian Church in Waco, Texas. Their family grew when Meghan was born on July 9, 1998, and then grew again when Matthew was born on May 10, 2001. Karen was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2015 and was called home on August 17, 2019.

            She is survived by her husband, Terry; her children: Meghan and Matthew; her mother: Carlene Pettijohn; her sister: Terri Pettijohn; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
