Kandi Teague

            Funeral service for Kandira Valene “Kandi” Teague, age 42, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the First Assembly of God Church in Frederick with Rev. Dan Coffin and Rev. Roy Newman, officiating.

            Kandi passed away Monday, August 15, 2022, at a Lubbock, Texas, hospital.

            A family and friends gathering will be Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

            Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.

            She was born on October 19, 1979, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Charlie Jackson Teague and Mary Lee (Hicks) Teague. She grew up in Frederick and attended Frederick schools, graduating from Frederick High School with the Class of 1997. Kandi loved her family and was happy to be surrounded by so many. She enjoyed shopping at Walmart and the Dollar Store and traveling to Borger, Texas. She loved coloring books, crayons, and drinking cups and spent time searching for the perfect one to take home. Kandi loved her church, loved the Lord and loved to sing. She was comforted by singing her favorite hymns: “God Is God”, “I’ll Fly Away”, and Choctaw Hymns with Mom and Aunt Doe. Kandi studied her Bible and would rewrite scriptures which can be found all in her room. Kandi was an inspiration to everyone she met and was a treasure to her family.

She was preceded in death by her father: Charlie Teague; brother: Chris Teague; and a sister-in-law: Denise Teague.

            Survivors include her mother: Mary Lee Teague, of the home in Frederick; a brother: Eric Jay Teague, of Frederick; a sister: Kimberly Marlene Frost and husband James Walter, of Borger, Texas; aunts: Linda Blackford and husband James; Dora “Doe” Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
