Judy Griffith

Funeral service for Judy Griffith, age 81, of Hollister, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Orr Gray Gish Chapel with Rev. Josh Boles and Rev. Les Banks officiating.

Judy passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Wichita Falls, Texas.

Burial will be in the Hollister Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Judy Nell Griffith was born December 2, 1944, near Tipton, Oklahoma, to Roy “Shorty” and Lillie (Davis) McGee. She grew up at Bethel, between Frederick and Tipton. She attended Weaver School and graduated with the Class of 1962. Judy proudly graduated as valedictorian, though she was quick to point out, with her characteristic sense of humor, that there were only six students in her graduating class.

She was united in marriage to Lynn Griffith on May 15, 1965, in the little chapel of First Baptist Church of Frederick.

Throughout the years, Judy worked at Byrum Cleaners and Centra-Leather Goods. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Southwest Salvage, a retail and wholesale business located at Surplus City in Lawton.

Judy loved to bake and her famous homemade fruit cobblers won the hearts (and stomachs) of everyone she knew. Her peach cobblers were especially legendary. She also absolutely loved collecting snowmen and had countless ones of all sorts and sizes.

Judy attended Bethel Baptist Church while growing up and joined First Baptist Church of Frederick in the early 1960s.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Walter "Lynn" Griffith, on August 4, 2026; and a sister: Johnnie Mae Beavers.

Se is survived by one daughter: Kim Griffith Rozendaal (Kevin) of Little Elm, Texas; one son: Dudley Griffith of Iowa Park, Texas; three grandchildren: Lena Fowler, Courtney Young (Markus), and Haley Weller (Andrew); and nine great-grandchildren: Ryan McCoy, Nevaeh Swain, Jordyn Asberry, Aubreigh Asberry, Madilynn Weller, Andrea Weller, Jennifer Weller, Cambree Cothren and Lukas Young.
