JoEvelyn Hughes

            Funeral service for JoEvelyn “Jodie” Hughes, age 78, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the Orr Gray Gish Chapel with Rev. Les Banks officiating.

            Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

            Mrs. Hughes passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023, in Burkburnett, Texas. Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery.

            She was born February 14, 1945, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Charlie and Edith (McKelvy) Moore. She graduated from Frederick High School with the Class of 1963. She was united in marriage to Galen Wayne Hughes on December 28, 1962, in Frederick, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker. She worked in the parts department at John Deere, and also at Schlegel Auto Part Manufacturing. She was a member of the Tesca Baptist Church.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law: Clarence and Ruby Hughes; two brothers: Vernon Moore, and Earl Moore.
