Memorial service for JoAnna Ruth (Mathews) Oldham, age 87, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Pentecostal Holiness Church (405 N. 3rd) with Rev. Roy Newman and Bro. Johnny Flores, officiating.
She was born May 5, 1937, in Chattanooga, Oklahoma, to George and Flora “Allen” Mathews. She attended and graduated from Frederick Public Schools. Joanna was a jack of all trades and had many talents. The story goes that JoAnna once took apart a tractor just to see if she could put it back together by the end of the day and she accomplished her mission and the tractor still worked! She baked cakes for customers for many years, owned and operated her own ironing business. She loved to fish and was passionate about studying her Bible. JoAnna will be remembered for her quick wit and contagious laugh.
She is survived by one daughter: Deborah Dianne Teague, of Dardanelle, Arkansas; one son: Layton Keith Oldham, Frederick, Oklahoma; a grandson and granddaughter that JoAnna helped raise: Dustin Michael Rainwater, of Durant, Oklahoma, and Carla Michelle Rainwater, of Reno, Nevada; sisters: Shirlene Cargile, Frederick, Oklahoma, Gail Morrow, of Grand Prairie, Texas, Patricia “Lynn” Wilson, of Moore, Oklahoma, and Eva Johnson, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son; Carl Otis; her daughter Melissa Oldham, Infant son Craig Earl Oldham, brothers; Don Mathews and Dariel Mathews, a grandson James Earl Oldham.
