OUR BELOVED HUSBAND, FATHER, POPPY AND FRIEND
"He lived simply, he loved deeply."
Jimmy Duane Rempel, affectionately known as Jim, Poppy, and Remp, was born on February 6, 1953, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Marjorie Gates Rempel and James Bernie, and was raised by his adoptive father, Harry Rempel. Jim graduated in 1971 from Buhler High School in Kansas - Go Crusaders - where he was an outstanding football player. He went on to attend Hutchinson Junior College on scholarship, earning his associate degree. Jim met the love of his life, Pam Collins, and the two were married on October 23, 1976, in Frederick, Oklahoma. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, welcoming their son, Jim Bob, and daughter, Jillian. Jim had a passion for welding and building, creating "Jim's Welding," where his incredible skill and work ethic allowed him to build countless barns and structures over the years. In 1984, he began working for Schlagel Manufacturing, starting from the bottom and working his way up to Product and Process Engineer. For the next 25 years, his work allowed him to travel and live in many places, including Australia and California. After returning to Oklahoma in 2005, Jim and Pam purchased a resort at Lake Texoma, where Jim happily returned to welding. In 2015, they moved back to Southwest Oklahoma to be closer to family, which meant everything to him. Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Pam; his children Jim Bob and wife Kristen Rempel of Altus, Oklahoma, and Jillian and husband Kyle Williams of Newcastle, Oklahoma; and his greatest joy, his five beloved grandchildren: Avery, Treslyn, Landry, Collins, and Jaxon, who proudly called him "Poppy." Не is preceded in death by his parents, his special aunt Francis Chapman, and his dear mother-in-law, Ann Collins, whom he loved greatly.
