Jeanne Winchester, age 81, of Frederick, Oklahoma, former Oregon resident, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at her home.
Jeanne Marie Winchester was a vibrant and compassionate presence in the lives of all who knew her. Lover of country-western and square dancing, Jeanne found joy in music, movement, and community. She was a talented card player, happy to be gathered around a table playing cribbage or Pinochle with family and friends.
Jeanne’s faith was a guiding light throughout her life; she was an active member of evangelical Christian churches and was deeply involved with the international organization, Bible Study Fellowship. Her spiritual community was important to her, and she welcomed opportunities to serve and connect.
A camper and bowler, Jeanne cherished time spent outdoors and in fellowship with others. She was easily recognized by her signature color—purple—which she wore and surrounded herself with as a reflection of her joyful personality.
In her professional life, Jeanne excelled in accounting and bookkeeping for various businesses, often stepping up to handle office management as well. She brought diligence and reliability to every role she filled.
Above all, Jeanne will be remembered for her ever-present smile and infectious joy, often joining in with a "woo-woo!" or an "okie dokie, artichoke-y!". She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel accepted, loved, and affirmed. With open arms and a generous spirit, she gave selflessly to anyone in need, always quietly and never seeking recognition or reciprocation.
Her greatest love was for her family, friends, and the communities she called home. Jeanne’s legacy of kindness, joy, and steadfast care will remain in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her.
