Georgia Greenfield

July 21, 1928 — April 13, 2021

Georgia White Greenfield was born on July 21, 1928, in Hollis, OK, to Clifford and Golda White.  After residing a few short years in Hollis, her family relocated to Frederick, OK.  Georgia was quick to engage in activities in Frederick, not to mention her accomplishments in school, where she was named the Salutatorian of the Frederick High School, class of 1946.  She demonstrated that same energy and enthusiasm in her family life with her marriage to Charles Wallace Greenfield and the birth of four children.  Georgia had a passion for interior design and gardening, as evidenced in her homes and yards throughout the years.  Some often said "Georgia was ahead of her time" when it came to design.

Georgia and Charles owned and operated the family grocery store, Greenfield's Foods, for many years, where they forged relationships with countless friends and served customers with a personal touch.  The two also partnered, in every sense of the word, in real estate, including designing and constructing homes in the Frederick and Altus areas.  Georgia was a member and former officer in the AS Chapter of P.E.O. and enjoyed serving with true dedication and involvement for over 50 years to advance local civic projects and educational opportunities.

Georgia relocated to Edmond, OK, in November 2010; however, Georgia's heart never left her hometown of Frederick, where years later many fondly recall her distinct laugh and incredulous enthusiasm for the local theatrical productions, Saturday matinees at the Ramona Theater, and almost everywhere she engaged with people.  Georgia was a woman of unshakable faith that guided her through some challenging times and losses.  Her spirit was palpable when in her presence and beyond.  Her quick laugh, white hair, and style encapsulated her fierceness until the end.

Georgia leaves behind three children, Melissa Wilson (Glen), Fish Greenfield (Thom Maciula), and Millie Carpenter, along with three granddaughters, Sarah Baldridge, Susan Toombs, and Kate Vandagriff.  Her three great-grandchildren, Mason and Sadie Baldridge and Hayden Vandagriff, also added to the joy she experienced with her entire family.  Georgia was also blessed in her latter years by having unconditional care from a dear friend and caregiver, Mary Dobbs. Georgia is predeceased by her husband, Charles, her daughter, Susan, and her parents.
