Francis (Flores) Ayala

            Francis (Flores) Ayala passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Duncan, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years, six months and 15 days. She was born September 19, 1929, in Walters, Oklahoma, to Jose and Manuela (Velis) Flores. She grew up working hard on the family farm and pitching in wherever was needed, whether it was picking cotton or care giving to those younger than her, or anything in between. She plowed the ground, both by mule and by tractor.  No job was too big for Francis. She was united in marriage to Louis Ramirez Ayala on August 29, 1958, in Frederick. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2010. She was a homemaker and was dedicated to her family. She was devoted to God and was a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church where she served the Lord for over 47 years.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers: Jessie Flores, Lupe Flores and Marcelino Flores; two sisters: Victoria Ramsey and Petra Flores; also an infant son and an infant daughter.

            Survivors include her son: Joe Louis Ayala and Evelyn, of Iowa Park, Texas; two daughters: Sylvia Ayala-Smith and husband James, of Oklahoma City, and Arcelia Ayala Blankenship and husband Brent, of Duncan; eight grandchildren: Montica and husband Michael, Andrew and wife Tiffany, Lane, Tori, Gabriella, Abigail, Louise Gage and Blaine; six great grandchildren: Braxten, Mila, Quentin, Jett, Alexavier and Sophia.
