Emma Zuniga

            Private family graveside service for Emma C. Zuniga, age 86, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Fr. Joseph David, pastor, officiating. (*In an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, social distancing will be observed).

            Mrs. Zuniga passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020, at her home in Frederick, surrounded by her loving family. Rosary service will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. (*Once again, in an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, social distancing will be observed).

            Burial will be is under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home, of Frederick.

            She was born September 26, 1933 in Charlotte, Texas, to Arcadio and Amalia (Rendon) Chavez. She attended school in Crosbyton, Texas. She worked for many years at the Memorial Nursing Center in Frederick. She was a member of Saint Helen’s Catholic Church of Frederick.

 She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Ramon Chavez and Margarito Chavez;

            Survivors include five sons: Cecil Zuniga and wife Staci, Lawton, OK, Arcadio Zuniga, Lawton, OK, Jose Zuniga, Wylie, TX, Bennie Zuniga, Altus, OK, and Selestino and wife Selestina Zuniga, Odessa, TX; seven daughters: Maggie Bowers and husband Ivey, Midland, TX, Gloria Hicks and husband Eddie, Loretta Gaytan and husband Tomas, Ramona Ibarra and husband Juan,  Josephine Castaneda and husband Juan, Amelia Sanchez, all of Frederick, OK; and Juanita Herrera, of Los Fresnos, Texas,  nine sisters: Concepcion Balderas, Rosa Sierra, Maria Hernandez, Dominga Jimenez, Irene Chavez, Juana Britton, Lucia Casias, Paula Reyes and Olga Gonzalez; numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
