Funeral service for Deedra D’Ann Martell, age 53, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church of Frederick, with Rev. Lisa Beavers, pastor, officiating.
Deedra passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Burial will be in the Davidson Cemetery.
She was born October 21, 1969, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Jerry Pat and Shirley Ann (Ball) Abbott. She grew up and attended Frederick schools, graduating from Frederick High School with the Class of 1987. She was united in marriage to Bradley Wayne Martell Sr. on November 28, 1992, at Stratford, Texas. She and Brad moved to Washington State for three years and returned to Frederick. She worked for Sheryl Willingham Inc. in Altus for many years. Deedra graduated from Western Oklahoma State College at Altus, in 2019. She then received her bachelor’s degree in 2022 from Cameron University at Lawton. She worked as an administrative assistant at CADC (Community Action Development Corporation). She had a big heart and was an avid volunteer for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church where she served her church in most every capacity. Among some of the ministries she devoted herself to include singing in the choir and praise team, Bible school, helping in the kitchen with church meals, to name a few.
She was preceded in death by her father: Jerry Pat Abbott, on March 22, 1981.
Survivors include her husband: Bradley Martell, of the home in Frederick; four sons: Matthew Martell and fiancé Sabrina Lopez, of Moore, Bradley Wayne Martell Jr., Brady Jack Martell, and Jeremy Nathaniel Martell, all of Frederick; three daughters: Brittany Mae Prewett and husband Keelan Jay Prewett, of Tulsa, Jaycie Lee Martell, of Norman, and Shelbie Grace Martell, Frederick; mother: Shirley Abbott, of Frederick; a brother: Jerry Lee Abbott and fiancé Kristie Lynn, of Altus; and a niece: Kentlee Abbott.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the First United Methodist Church, 301 E. Grand, Frederick, OK 73542, in loving memory of Deedra Martell.
