Carlene J. Pettijohn

            Memorial service for Carlene J. Pettijohn, age 81, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at a later date in October. There will also be an inurnment at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery in conjunction with the memorial service.

            Mrs. Pettijohn passed away Sunday afternoon, September 13, 2020, at Ayers Nursing Home, Snyder, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.

            She was born October 25, 1938, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Clark and Opal (Johnson) Box. She attended Frederick schools and graduated from Frederick High School. She was united in marriage to Jerry Pettijohn at the First Christian Church of Frederick. He passed away in June of 1963.  She worked at Langston Drug and was a homemaker. She was a lifelong Frederick resident and a lifelong member of the First Christian Church.

            In addition to her parents; and her husband; she was preceded in death by a daughter: Karen Dawson.

            Survivors include her daughter: Teri Kay Pettijohn; a sister: Wanda Gayle Morgan and husband Jimmy, Waco, Texas; son-in-law: Terry Dawson, Waco, Texas; two grandchildren: Megan Dawson and Matthew Dawson; a niece: Teresa Danforth and husband Donald, of Dripping Springs, Texas; a nephew: Greg Morgan and wife Melanie; and cousins: Mike Johnson and wife Mary Ann, of Frederick, Oklahoma and Jimmie Johnson and Pam Ammon Johnson, of Enid, Oklahoma.
