Burial will be in the Grandfield Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home of Frederick.

Buddy passed away Monday, May 23, 2002, at a Lawton hospital.

He was born September 29, 1970, at Wichita Falls, Texas, to Buddy Baskett Sr. and Wilma Jean (Cummins) Baskett. He grew up in Grandfield and resided there most all of his life. Buddy worked for more than 20 years for Gray Cattle Company. He had a passion for farming and it showed to his boss William. He enjoyed going to work each day and he loved teaching and working with people every day. He was hard working and took pride doing his best in everything he did. He loved his kids and grandkids as well as his beloved Karen. Buddy was known for his “wild side” and never had a bone in his body that would stay in one spot. His mother always said, “He was a daredevil in disguise.” He was always hot rodding or doing something with his best friend Billy Don. They enjoyed riding and tearing up as well as putting together motorcycles. He loved the 4th of July. It was his favorite time of year because his daughter’s birthday was near that holiday. He loved camping down at the river and having a good time. He was also known by his friends as his nicknames: Boodro and Bud-I.  He loved people and enjoyed cooking out with friends over.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved other half: Karen Delacruz; many aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his daughter: Jessica Zink (Todd) and their two boys Kasen and Kailor, of Norton, Kansas; a son: Buddy Allen Baskett (Faye) and their two kids: Tabby and Zachary, of Holbrook, Nebraska; a sister: Tammy Burke, Grandfield; and his best friend Billy Don Whittington and his family, of Grandfield.
