Funeral service for Benito "El Chino" Gomez, age 82, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Orr Gray Gish Chapel with Pastor Chris Amador officiating.
Mr. Gomez passed away Monday, February 2, 2026, at Lawton, Oklahoma. Burial will be in the Tipton Municipal Cemetery, Tipton, Oklahoma.
Visitation and rosary will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
He was born November 13, 1943, to the late Señor Juan Gomez and the late Señora Anastasia Vargas in Palmillas, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He worked as a farmhand and often did migrant work. He was united in marriage to Angelita Puente on March 23, 1982, in Tipton, Oklahoma. Chino was a happy, friendly person. He enjoyed listening to music, dancing, telling stories and jokes. He loved to go to church. He loved the outdoors and his favorite hobbies included being in the garden, sitting on the front porch, and spending time in his back yard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Angelita Gomez, on January 14, 2002; and a sister: Juana Gomez.
He is survived by one brother: Ventura Gomez; two sisters: Ester Gomez, and Josephina Gomez; step-children: Maria "Betty" Manriquez (Roy), of Tipton, Oklahoma, Jesse Meza (Kayla), of Tipton, Oklahoma, Joe Gutierrez (Donna), of Tipton, Oklahoma, and Daniel Meza (Shelby) of Springtown, Texas; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a niece and nephew including: Maria "Cookie" Delrio Puga (Mundito), of Frederick, Oklahoma, who were his caregivers.
