Apolonio "Paul" Solis Ramirez

            Funeral service for Apolonio Solis “Paul” Ramirez, age 77, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019, at the Orr Gray Gish Chapel with Michael Lopez, nephew from Abilene, Texas, officiating.

            Mr. Ramirez passed away Friday afternoon, October 25, 2019, at his home in Frederick. A visitation and reception will be 6:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

            Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.

            Apolonio (“Paul” in English and “Polo” in Spanish), was born February 15, 1942, in Mercedes, Texas, to Placido Leal Ramirez and Maria Solis Ramirez. He attended school at Muleshoe, Texas. In early high school, he left school and began working at farms to help the family make a living. He was united in marriage to Catalina Cruz Lopez on November 22, 1965, at Saint Helen’s Catholic Church in Frederick, Oklahoma. He worked as a yardman, mechanic, farmer and carpenter.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Elvia Ramirez Hernandez; and two brothers: Armando and Albertico Ramirez.

            Survivors include his wife: Catalina, of the home in Frederick; two daughters: Maria Catalana “Cathy” Lopez Ramirez, Frederick, and Rebecca Lopez Ramirez Noyola and husband Juan, of Frederick; two sisters: Elmira "Mary" Ramirez Saldana and husband Eddie, of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Eva Ramirez Delagarza, of Austin, Texas; three brothers: Alvino Ramirez and wife Aminta, of Burkburnett, Texas, Placido Ramirez, Jr., of Bay City, Texas; and Adam Fred Ramirez and wife Janie, of Frederick; numerous nieces and nephews.

            Memorial contributions in loving memory of Paul Ramirez may be made to the funeral home to assist the family.
