Chester Allgood

Chester Allgood Funeral service for Chester Lee Allgood, age 82, was at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the Gray Gish Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Whitworth, officiating. Mr. Allgood passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2008, in Altus, Oklahoma. Burial was in the Chattanooga Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home. Chester Lee was born on January 11, 1926, in Tillman County, to Robert Lee and Edith Beatrice (Muchmore) Allgood. He attended school in Cement, Oklahoma. He married Alice Faye Brannum on June 14, 1948, in Vernon, Texas. He worked as a farmer and rancher. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alice on February 11, 2004; son: Dewayne Brannum; five sisters: Lois Weldon, Louella Landrum, Gladys Harmon, Dorothy Johnson and Joy Matthews; five brothers: Tommy, Harold, Darall, Robert and Wiley Allgood. He is survived by one son: Harrell Eugene Allgood and wife Janet, of Wichita Falls, Texas; one daughter: Betty Sheffield and husband Eddie, of Frederick, Oklahoma; a sister: Tressia Ryan, of Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
