Jerome Brink Funeral service for Jerome Brink, age 86, of Frederick, Oklahoma, was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2008, at Gray Gish Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Roland Behnke, pastor, Bethel Baptist Church, officiating. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February, 13, 2008. Mr. Brink passed away Monday, February 11, 2008, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Burial was in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home. Jerome Benjamin Brink was born on June 4, 1921, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Benjamin Diedrick and Edna Mae (Hazel) Brink. He grew up on the family farm Northeast of Frederick. He attended school in Frederick and served as President of Frederick FFA Chapter, before graduating high school in 1940. He received the State Farmer Degree. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1942 to 1946, where he served in World War II and received the President's Unit Citation, Isle of Mendoro. He was employed as a fertilizer chemical representative for over 25 years, where he worked at Farmland Industries in Manitou, Oklahoma, which later became Farmers Coop in Snyder. He retired in 1991. He married Margrette Clara Ferguson on November 9, 1979, in Vernon, Texas. He enjoyed the outdoors where he loved to fish and hunt. He was an active member of the Red River Valley Hereford Breeder Association and a member of the American Polled Hereford Association. He was an honorary member of the Frederick FFA Chapter. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and brother in law: Geraldine Louise and Archie Gottschall. He is survived by his wife Margrette, of the home; two sons: Jerome Benjamin Brink, Jr. and wife Nelda, of Agate, Colorado and Terry Hugh Brink and wife, Ellen, of Frederick, Oklahoma; a daughter: Donna Gaye Smith and husband Chris, of New Braunfels, Texas; two step daughters: Delinda Diane Vaughn and Karen Lee Humphrey and husband David, all of Vernon, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and one on the way. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church, 17895 CR NS 217, Frederick, OK 73542, in loving memory of Jerome Brink.
