Della Louise Grant

Funeral service for Della Louise Grant, age 83, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2008, at the Burkhardt Chapel in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Rev. John Horton, pastor, First Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Grant passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2008, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home. Della Louise was born on December 4, 1924, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, to Thurman and Grace (Prow) Parker. She grew up in Missouri, where she attended school. She worked on the Army Post at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, where she met Harold Greer Grant. They were married on July 22, 1944, in Olympia, Washington. After World War II, they came to Frederick, where Harold farmed. She loved working in the yard and gardening. She enjoyed reading, numbers and math. She was a seamstress and enjoyed quilting. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold on August 23, 1988. She is survived by a son: Robert Grant, of Frederick, Oklahoma; and two daughters: JoAnna Grant, of Frederick, Oklahoma and Julie Chandler and husband Jeff, of Noble, Oklahoma; a brother: Bill Parker and wife Jean, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; two sisters: Betty McCarty, of Malibu, California and Mary Lee Klee, of Palmdale, California; and one granddaughter: Jessica Chandler.
