Charles B. Ball

Funeral service for Charles "Chuck" Ball, age 67, of Tipton, Oklahoma, was held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Tipton, with Rev. Harold Gaches, pastor, officiating. Mr. Ball passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at his home in Tipton, Oklahoma. Burial was in the Tipton Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Tipton Funeral Home. Charles was born on September 8, 1941, in Imperial, Nebraska to Charles Beckwith and Georgia (Beattie) Ball, Sr. He grew up in Max, Nebraska, and graduated from Shelton High School. He married Linda Dickson on November 27, 1960, in Tipton, Oklahoma. He began working at the age of nine, with his dad on wheat harvest. He became the co-owner and operator of Ball & Sons Harvesting, until 1990. He drove a truck and also went on harvests with Brittin Newhouse. In January 2007, he went to work for Tillman County, District 1, until the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy Koehn. He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; two sons: David Ball and wife Brenda, of Tipton, Oklahoma and Danny Ball and wife Raquel, of Blair, Oklahoma; a daughter: Vickie Passmore, of Edmond, Oklahoma; two sisters: Winona Wolfe and husband Jody of Hollis, Oklahoma, Carol Barnes of Edmond, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren: David Ball Jr. and wife Tracey, Amanda Padilla and husband Matt, Amberly Passmore, Lee Passmore, James Passmore, Adrian Southerland and wife Ruthie, Zach Ball, Kamra Ball and Brittany Ball; four great grandchildren: Collin Ball, Jalyn Ball, Jaxon Ball and Jaisa Padilla; two step grandchildren: Colten Wolfe and Nelson Wolfe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
