Mary G. Jones

Funeral service for Mary G. Jones, age 71, of Frederick, Oklahoma, was at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Frederick, Oklahoma with Rev. Les Banks, officiating. Mrs. Jones passed away Friday, October, 3, 2008, at the Plantation Village, in Altus, Oklahoma. Burial was in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home in Frederick, Oklahoma. Mary was born on August 13, 1937, in Bryan, Texas, to Jessie and Manuela (Martines) Garza. She grew up in Frederick, Oklahoma, where she attended Victory School and later attended Frederick Public Schools. She married Joe Bailey Jones on May 24, 1955, in Frederick, Oklahoma. She was very active in her daughter's lives, especially their sports, where she never missed a game. She worked at English Village Manor as a nurse's aide and later owned and operated Jones Café in Duke, Oklahoma. Because of her love for taking care of others at English Village and serving others at her café, she went to work at Frederick Memorial Hospital, where she worked as the Dietary Supervisor, for more than 20 years, until her retirement. She was an avid OU fan and loved the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. She was a member of the Duke First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Manuel and Raymond Garza; two sisters: Hortencia Garza and Lupe Medina and a special friend: Don Mathews. She is survived by seven daughters: Linda Sloan and husband Randy, of Duke, Oklahoma; Brenda Moore and Sammy Moore, of Duke, Oklahoma; Susan Hays and husband Roy, of Olustee, Oklahoma; Cindy Henricks and husband Ricky, of Manitou, Oklahoma; Pam Craddock and husband Mose, of Garland, Texas; Rachel Cheatham and husband Shawn, of Kingwood, Texas and Mary Jo Warren and husband Brad, of Altus, Oklahoma; former husband and lifetime friend: Joe Jones; four brothers: Pete Garza, of Tipton, Oklahoma, Joe Garza Jr. and Martin Garza, both of Frederick, Oklahoma and James Garza, of Ft. Worth, Texas; three sisters: Jessie Sebree and friend Jesse Gutierrez of Frederick, Oklahoma; Louise Garza and Madeline Garza, both of Texas; 17 grandchildren: Joe and April Elkouri, Keven and Brandi Boley, Justin and Krystle Urbina, John Cox, Tamra James, Steven Joe and Tia Willis, Tiffany Willis, Kimberlie and Kannon Hays, Braden and Kasen Warren, Chase and Chad Cheatham; six great grandchildren: Justin and Berlyn Urbina, Kash Boley, T.J. and Ty Brown and Brooklyn Willis and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
