Roger Leon Hair

Funeral service for Roger Leon "Tootie" Hair, age 93, of Davidson, Oklahoma, was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2009, at the Gray Gish Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Les Banks officiating. Mr. Hair died Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at a Lawton, Oklahoma, hospital. Burial with military honors was in the Davidson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home, Frederick, Oklahoma. He was born September 5, 1915, in Davidson, Oklahoma, to Arthur and Bessie (Hopkins) Hair. He attended Davidson schools. He was united in marriage to Opal Ellis on September 11, 1932. She died November 11, 1988. He worked as a welder in California during and after WWII, welding oil field pipelines. In April of 1945, he entered the United States Army and served honorably until his discharge in December of 1945. He then moved to Olton, Texas, and farmed before returning to Davidson, Oklahoma, where he continued farming. He married Jessie Lucille Jones on November 26, 1989, in Davidson, Oklahoma. She passed away December 22, 1998. He loved to fish, especially "crappie" fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; his spouses; and one daughter: Sue Hair. Survivors include one son: Kenneth Hair and wife Cathy, of Sun City, Arizona; one daughter: Sharon McElhone, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a cousin: Carol Ridings and wife Frances of Frederick, Oklahoma; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
