Katherine (Calhoun) Davis Funeral service for Katherine (Calhoun) Davis, age 67, of Frederick, Oklahoma, was held 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Orr Gray Gish Chapel with Rev. Bob Couch, officiating. Katherine passed away Thursday, October 08, 2009, in an Altus, Oklahoma, nursing care center. Burial was in the Chattanooga Cemetery, Chattanooga, Oklahoma, under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home, of Frederick. She was born April 4, 1942, in Tillman County, Oklahoma, to Clarence and Zula Mae (Duke) Calhoun. She attended school in Chattanooga and graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1959. She has lived in Chattanooga, Oklahoma, as well as numerous places in New Mexico, and she lived for the past five years in Frederick, Oklahoma. She has worked in the medical field as an x-ray tech, lab tech and respiratory tech. She was a first responder for Guadalupe Ambulance in New Mexico. She worked in nursing homes as CNA and RNA. She also worked as a dietary tech in Las Alamos, New Mexico. She volunteered at the hospital in Frederick for many years and she worked at Metzeler Automotive Profile Systems in Frederick, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chattanooga, Oklahoma, and also had attended the First Baptist Church, of Hollister, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters: Juanita Powell, Maggie Cox, Alice Reed and infant Cecil Mary; and one brother: Billy Calhoun. She is survived by her son: Todd Rothell and companion Steven Price of Jacksonville Florida; four daughters: Stacy Marquez and husband Kennedy of Vaughn, New Mexico; Laurie Roden and husband John Paul, Shannon Chapa and husband Manuel, Kathy Jo Chapa and husband Agopito, all of Frederick, Oklahoma; three brothers: Oscar Calhoun, of Hollister, Oklahoma; Donald Calhoun, of Chattanooga, Oklahoma; Alfred Calhoun, of Ringling, Oklahoma; one sister: Mildred Fritz, of Smithville, Texas; 12 grandchildren: Zach, Melissa, and Stephanie Marquez, Tiffany Roden, Kaye, Shay, Sarah and Damion Chapa, Nathaniel Hanes, Cody, Charlie and AJ Chapa; two great grandchildren: Michelle Gonzales and Kayne Bishop May; and beloved pets: Peanut and Fiesty.
