He was born on November 23, 1952 to William H. and Ella Faye (Gray) Perkins in Grandfield, Oklahoma. He attended Grandfield Schools until the 3rd grade and then they moved to Frederick where he attended the Frederick Schools. He married Peggy Kauk on September 5, 1970 in Vernon, Texas. He lived in numerous places including Muleshoe, Texas; Tipton, Oklahoma; Cordell, Oklahoma; Clinton, Oklahoma; and Frederick, Oklahoma. He was employed as a lineman before he retired due to health reasons. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Larry Perkins; and one baby sister: Mary Perkins. He is survived by one son: Michael Wayne Perkins, of Monterey, Tennessee; one daughter: Patty Ann Herndon, and her husband, Johnny, of Hammond, Oklahoma; two brothers: Willie Perkins, and his wife, Susie, of Frederick, Oklahoma; and Rudy Perkins, of Norman, Oklahoma; one sister: Nancy Harkins, and her husband, Jan, of Heavener, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren: Carissa, R.J., Harley and Johnnie.
