Vonna Ruth Flood

Vonna Ruth "Polly" Flood went to be with the Lord Saturday morning, December 4, 2010. She died at the Memorial Nursing Care Center, Frederick, Oklahoma, at the age of 96 years, one month and 23 days. She was born on October 10, 1914, to Robert Franklin and Mattie Drucilla (Moore) Hayes, in Frederick, Oklahoma. She attended grade school at Union, and then graduated in 1931, from Tipton High School. She married Edgar Betran Flood, Jr., on December 16, 1943, in Frederick, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1992. She was employed by J.C. Penney and was a deputy county assessor. She was a member of the Rose Unit Garden Club and First Baptist Women on Missions. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers: William Jasper Hayes, Olan F. Hayes, and Turner (Pete) Hayes; five sisters: Ida B. Gant, Texie E. Woods, Leon Talley, Ima Jackson, and Effie E. Hayes. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
