He was born June 15, 1929, at Gilman, Illinois, to Carl Wilhelm and Viola (Brinkman) Struve. He lived in Illinois until 1978, when he moved to Texas and owned and operated an air conditioning and heating business. He was an EMT and a volunteer fireman for over 20 years. He retired in 1994, and moved to Frederick in 2005 to be near family. He loved gardening and had a passion for birds, he had feeders he tended to daily. He was a Lutheran. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: William R. Peters, a brother and a sister. Survivors include his wife: Catharine Peters, of the home in Frederick, Oklahoma; two daughters: Laurie and Linda Peters, both of Illinois; three step-sons: Robert Owens, Illinois, James Owens, Illinois, and David Owens, of Florida; six step-daughters: Christine Easley, Texas, Patricia Hodson, Illinois, Janet Malone, Frederick, Oklahoma; Glynnie Ford, Illinois, Linda Senesac, Illinois, and Barbara Lindow, of Texas; 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
