Johnnie A. Bandy

Johnnie A. Bandy went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 6, 2011. He died in Richardson, Texas, at the age of 93 years, five months and nine days. He was born July 28, 1917, to Walter and Emma Myers Bandy. He grew up and attended school in Manitou. He was united in marriage to LaHoma Karlstrom-Ryan on August 26, 1939, at Frederick, Oklahoma. They resided in Frederick and were active members of the Trinity Baptist Church. They moved from Frederick to Lawton in1956, and he began working for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, where he worked until his retirement in 1987, after more than 30 years of service. While in Lawton, they attended Beal Heights Presbyterian Church. After his retirement, he and his wife lived on Waurika Lake for many years before moving to the Dallas area to be near family. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter: Sarah Elizabeth Bandy Roberts; siblings: Bill Bandy, Lilly Bandy Day, O.C. Bandy, Helen Bandy Cozart; brothers-in-law: D.A. and Patrick Ryan; and a sister-in-law: Mickey Ryan Tivis. Survivors include his wife: LaHoma, of Richardson, Texas; a son: John David Bandy and wife Matilda, of Jackson, Tennessee; a daughter Cynthia Susan Threadgill and husband Ron, of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren: Cynthia Burroughs Hill, Melissa Burroughs Karlberg and husband EJ, Aaron Bandy, Eric Bandy, Katy Dori-Roberts and husband Chen, Sarah Roberts Newmarker and husband John, and Rachel Threadgill; and five great grandchildren: Canon and Lily Hill, Hansen Karlberg, Naya Dori-Roberts and Noah Bartolomei.
