Onita Burden

October 9, 1936 — January 30, 2011

She was born October 9, 1936 to Benny George and Faye Etta (Dosher) Neugebauer, in Tipton, Oklahoma on a farm. She attended Manitou Schools and graduated in 1954 as the salutatorian of her class. She worked as a waitress at Sputnik Doughnut Shop in Vernon, Texas and several other places all over town. She married Lee "Buddy" Burden on July 25, 1964, in Vernon, Texas. They moved to Frederick and then back to Manitou. She worked for T.P. Byrum Cleaners in Frederick. She then worked for Edna's Café until she retired in 1983. She loved to cook, sew, paint, read and create arts and crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers: Benny, Ronnie, and Rufus Neugebauer. She is survived by her husband: Lee "Buddy" Burden, of the home; three children: Doyle Rains, and his wife Susie, of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Denise Cason, of Gainesville, Texas; and Cindy Stephens, and her husband Gary, of Frederick, Oklahoma; three sisters: JoEtta Mashburn, and her husband Monroe, of Washington; Pat Valentino, and her husband Tony, of Manitou; and Ann Stiebens, and her husband Jerry, of Manitou; seven grandchildren: Kelly, Stacy, Tim, Heather, Lee, Samantha and Stormy; three great grandchildren: Allysa, Emily and Madie.
