Houston Cephus Hicks

Houston Cephus Hicks went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 23, 2012. He passed away at his home in Frederick at the age of 71 years, 10 months, and 28 days. He was born on July 26, 1940, to Laymon Cephus and Sophina (Ashalintubby) Hicks, in Watson, Oklahoma. He attended schools in Hugo, Weaver and Frederick. He married Josie Flores on July 3, 1959, in Vernon, Texas. He worked for Century Granite Company, Betsy Bra, Schlegel and Walker Mobile Homes. He later married Norma Jean Byrd on September 9, 1983, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a landlord and had numerous rental properties. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his infant sister: Virginia, in December 1944; father: Laymon Hicks on October 3, 1996; his mother: Sophina Hicks on January 31, 2007; and one step-son: Arthur Byrd on June 29, 2009. He is survived by his wife: Norma Hicks, of Frederick, Oklahoma; four children: JoAnna Hicks O'Neill, of Cypress, TX, Linda Haston and husband Danny, of Frederick, OK, Jimmy Hicks, of Wichita Falls, TX, and Gary Hicks and wife Kristi, of Palestine, TX; three sisters: Rena Cornelius, of Muskogee, OK, Mary Teague, of Frederick, OK, and Dora Williams, of Frederick, OK; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
