Clarice Ward

November 9, 1933 — November 11, 2013

Ruby "Clarice" Ward went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 11, 2013. She passed away in Oklahoma City at the age of 80 years and two days. She was born November 9, 1933, to Harvie E. and Ruth (Byrns) Wright. She attended school at Wilson #2 and graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1951. She was united in marriage to the love of her life Billy R. Ward on May 19, 1951, in Vernon, Texas. She worked at the State Bank of Davidson and then later at the National Bank of Frederick, where she retired in 1975 to enjoy her grandchildren. Then in November of 1986, she owned and operated Cabbage Patch, a clothing store for children as well as several other business interests. She was a very astute business woman with a real entrepreneur spirit. She was active at that time as a board member for the Frederick Chamber of Commerce. She retired again in September of 1995 to enjoy her great grandchildren. She was proud to own an Oklahoma Centennial Farm that has been in her family since before statehood. She was a tremendous sports fan, especially the "Bombers" and most especially when her grandkids or great grandkids were involved. She was a giver and loved people, numerous people called her "momma 2" because she was like a second mother to so many. She was an avid square dancer and through such passion developed many friendships through the years. She had a heart for the Kingdom of God and was a faithful intercessor for those that the Lord had laid on her heart. She was a true virtuous woman as portrayed in the Bible from Proverbs 31. She was active in the Christian Women's Club and she was a member of Living Water Ministries in Frederick. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband: Bill Ward of the home in Frederick, Oklahoma; two daughters: Dr. Rhonda Ward, of New York, New York, and Rita Roberts and husband Doug, of Frederick, Oklahoma; two grandchildren: Amy Haynes and husband Todd, of Frederick, Oklahoma, and Jeremy Roberts and wife Kelli, of Allen, Texas; also a four-legged grand-dog: Andy, whom she loved as well; and four great grandchildren: Courtney and Bryce Haynes and Gracie and Brooks Roberts.
