Maryanne V. Garcia

Maryanne (Valverde) "Mary" Garcia went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 18, 2014. She died at Altus, Oklahoma, at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 28 days. She was born on January 22, 1932, to Antonio and Carlotta (Rodriguez) Valverde, in Rosebud, Texas. She was united in marriage to Dionicio "Frank" Garcia, Sr., on March 22, 1947, in Cameron, Texas. They moved to Tillman County, her husband farmed and she worked at Betsy Bra. She was a proud homemaker and loved to cook all the family meals. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, her chickens and her grandkids. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank Sr. on March 12, 2003; three sons: Tony Ramirez, Felipe Garcia and Pete Garcia; a great grandson: Daniel Mendoza; three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by five sons: Dionicio "Chito" Garcia, Jr., of Lubbock, Texas; Frank Garcia and wife Hortencia, of Dallas, Texas; Blas Garcia, of Frederick, Oklahoma; Joe Garcia and wife Angie, of Frederick, Oklahoma; and Billy Wayne Garcia, of Lawton, Oklahoma; five daughters: Janie Leyja, of Frederick, Oklahoma, Kathy Garza and husband Joe, of Frederick, Oklahoma; Rosie Arreguin and husband Juan, of Frederick, Oklahoma; Helen Avila, of Dallas, Texas, Pauline Mendoza, of Frederick, Oklahoma; 28 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
