Juan Puente

Juan Jesus Puente went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 12, 2015. He died in Altus, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 15 days. He was born May 27, 1931, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Jesus and Margarita (Betencourte) Puente. He grew up and attended school in Corpus Christi. He was united in marriage to Maria Luisa Moreno on April 22, 1952, at Corpus Christi, Texas. He entered the United States Army on March 6, 1953. He served honorable and was discharged on February 26, 1955. He traveled across the country as a migrate worker. He spent time in Corpus Christi, Oklahoma and Arizona, before making his home at Tipton in 1970. He worked at various jobs, however, most of his working life was involved in agriculture. He retired from the Tipton Coop. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing jokes. He loved baseball, dominoes and cards. He was a Catholic. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Ernesto; four sisters and one brother. Survivors include his wife: Maria Puente, of Tipton, Oklahoma; a daughter: Esperanza Hernandez, Tipton, Oklahoma; seven sons: Henry Puente and wife Monica, of Yukon, Oklahoma, Robert Puente, Tipton, Oklahoma, Bernabe Puente, Lawton, Oklahoma, Angel Puente and wife Veronica, of Dallas, Texas, Benito Puente and wife Dianna, of Lawton, Oklahoma, Jaime Puente and wife Gloria, of Tipton, Oklahoma, and Juan J. Puente, Jr. and wife Karri, of Garland, Texas; a sister: Francesca Puente, of San Antonio, Texas; 28 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
