Rosie Mae Brown

May 20, 1925 — September 27, 2015

Rosie Mae Deckard Brown was a beautiful rose herself born on May 20, 1925, to Rev. Lonnie Elzee Deckard and Sallie Mae Price Hightower in Frankston, TX. She was educated in Oklahoma. She was a housewife, housekeeper, and home health care worker. She married three times during her life. Her first marriage was to Jessie Martin where she conceived one child Robert Martin who died as an infant. She later married C.J. Nolan, where she conceived four children Carolyn Bell, deceased, Leola Graham, C. J. Nolan Jr., and Danny Lee Nolan. Later a 6th child was born, Diana Martin. She was later married to Nathaniel Brown, and of that marriage two fraternal twin boys were born; Donald Martin, living, and Ronald Martin who died as an infant, for a total of seven children. Rosie gave her heart to the Lord when she was just a young child and became a member of the Pentecostal church, The Church of God in Christ, where she became a prayer warrior and missionary in Frederick, Oklahoma where she lived most of her adult life. Rosie was a benevolent soul who helped raise her sisters and brothers, as well as her own children. Her home was always opened to all who entered. She was a great cook, and her motto was "always cook more than enough" so that whenever she offered guest a plate she would really mean it. She was also a very steadfast woman in that she maintained the same phone number and Post Office box for over 40 years. In addition to those attributes Rosie was always patient and kind, and rarely complained about anyone or anything. She was an awesome mother, sister, wife, aunt, cousin, friend, and neighbor. She will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her father: Rev. Lonnie Elzee Deckard of Frederick, OK, mother: Sallie Mae Price Hightower of Dallas, TX, her husbands: Jesse Martin, C. J. Nolan, and Rev. Nathaniel Brown, all of Frederick, OK; her brother: Lonnie (Bubba) Deckard of California, her youngest brother, Sammy Lee Deckard of Frederick, OK; her sisters: Roberta Lax of Frederick, OK, and Reba Atkinson of Dallas, TX; her infant sons, Robert and Ronald Martin, and her daughter, Carolyn Bell of Palmdale, CA. She is survived by her brother: Minister Robert Lee Deckard of Frederick, OK; her sister: Retha Ann Sibley of Dallas, TX; her daughters: Leola Graham of Oklahoma City, and Diana Martin of Frederick,OK; sons: C.J. Nolan of California, Danny Lee Nolan of Oklahoma, Donald Martin of Frederick, OK; 14 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
