Donald A. Prescott

October 16, 1931 — September 10, 2016

            Donald Andrew Prescott went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 10, 2016. He passed away at his home in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 24 days. He was born October 16, 1931, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Henry and Katie (Woodall) Prescott. He grew up in Frederick and attended Frederick schools, graduating high school with the Class of 1949. He was united in marriage to Ruby Mae Hill on January 20, 1953, in Vernon, Texas. He entered the United States Army on January 28, 1953, at Oklahoma City. He served in Korea and was honorably discharged on December 29, 1954, at Fort Carson, Colorado. Among the awards he received for his military service were: United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the ROK Presidential Unit Citation. He moved to Dallas, Texas, in 1955, and owned and operated a coin operated car wash, then a One Hour Martinizing Cleaners, and then the Speed Queen Washateria. He enjoyed farming and owned a farm in Grayson County, Texas. He also owned a vineyard and winery under the label of Preston Trail Winery. He also worked at Bear Air Aviation. Despite his other interests, he worked in aviation most of his working life. He began working at the Frederick Airport at the age of 16. He was a military pilot and then worked as a mechanic for Braniff and Rio Airlines, he was a PNS Aerowest Pilot and had his own plane under the name Bear Air Aviation. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ.             He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Larry Don Prescott; and sisters: Christine Prescott James and Norma Prescott Dye.             Survivors include his wife: Ruby, of the home in Dallas, Texas; a daughter: Helen Graber and husband Larry, of Round Rock, Texas; a son: Dean Andrew Prescott, also of Dallas, Texas; a brother: Hurston Prescott and wife Elsie, of Winnsboro, Texas; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home111 N. 11th StreetFrederick, OK 73542(580) 335-2112
