George Gonzalez Martinez, Jr.

            Memorial service for George Gonzalez Martinez, Jr., age 63, of Frederick, Oklahoma, was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Temple of the Power of God with Rev. Jacqui Darling, and Rev. Pete Vasquez, officiating.             Mr. Martinez passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017, in an Oklahoma City Hospital.             He was born on October 2, 1953, to Jorge and Elida Gonzalez Martinez, in Taylor, Texas. He was a Frederick resident since 1972. He worked at John Deere for 28 years, also for John Cassidy for 10 years. He enjoyed working on tractors and detailing his pickup. He married Edith May Hall, in 1974, at Vernon, Texas.             He was preceded in death by his parents: Jorge and Elida Martinez; one son: George Santos Martinez; two sisters: Norma Solis and Estella Martinez; and an uncle: Lupe Martinez.             He is survived by his wife: Edith May Martinez, of Frederick, Oklahoma; two sons: Eric Martinez, of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Aaron Martinez and his wife Josie, of Lawton, Oklahoma; five sisters: Rosa Martinez, of South Texas area, Susie Rains, of Owasso, Oklahoma, Diana Duckworth, of Claremore, Oklahoma, Mary Martinez, of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Alma Rhodes, of Claremore, Oklahoma; one brother: Jose Martinez Sr., of Claremore, Oklahoma; nephew: Richard Martinez, of Mission, Texas; two granddaughters; one grandson; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
