            Funeral service for Reverend Pedro “Pete” Garza, age 90, of Tipton, Oklahoma, was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of  Tipton with Rev. Freddie Reyes, Iglesia Pentecostes Independiente (Hollis, OK) and Rev. Juan Gonzales, Iglesia Pentecostes Independiente (Altus, OK), and Rev. Paul Beam, pastor, officiating.             Rev. Garza passed away in Tipton, Oklahoma, Thursday, August 10, 2017. Burial was in the Tipton Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish & Tipton Funeral Homes.             A family and friends gathering will be held 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Frederick. All of the viewing will be in Frederick.             He was born December 2, 1926, in Steeles Store, Texas, to Jesse and Manuela (Martinez) Garza. He grew up in Texas. He was united in marriage to Josephina Martinez on October 22, 1944, at Electra, Texas. She preceded him in death on March 6, 1992. He lived in Lockney, Texas, from 1948 to 1958, where he worked as a ranch-hand for Ras Ford. He moved to Davidson, Oklahoma and worked for the gin. He moved to Frederick and then to Tipton in 1959. Other work history include City of Tipton, Garza Custom Hay Hauling, and Aviall Aeromotive. He answered the call to the ministry and was ordained a Pentecostal minister. He pastored the Templo Las Olivas in Tipton for over 45 years.             In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Josefine Balderas, on August 6, 2008; four brothers:  Joe Garza, Sr., Raymond Garza, Martin Garza, and Manuel Garza; and five sisters:  Louise Garza, Madeline Roys, Ortancia Garza, Mary Jones, and Guadelupe “Wallie” Medina.             Survivors include three sons: Pete Garza, Jr. and wife Angelita, of Tipton, Oklahoma, Andrew Garza and wife Maria, of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Braulio “Bob” Garza and Dora  Garza, of Tipton; three daughters: Guadelupe Soliz and husband Martarito “Max”, of Tipton, Angelita “Linda” Gonzales and husband Frank, of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Estelita Gonzales and husband Rev. Juan, of Altus, Oklahoma; a brother: James Garza and wife Patsy, of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister: Jessie Sebree, of Vernon, Texas; 32 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren, numerous great great, great great great grandchildren and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
